CU's Lawson falls in Quarterfinals of Oklahoma Amateur

Cameron senior Trey Lawson's run in the Oklahoma Amateur Golf Championship came to an end on Tuesday.

Lawson won his first match of the day 4 and 3 over Hunter Sparks to earn a spot in the final eight. His Quarterfinal matchup with second-seeded Tyler Carson was a back and forth affair. Carson double-bogeyed 17, allowing Lawson to tie things up. Lawson would return the favor one hole later, as he bogeyed the 18th and final hole to lose the match.

The Aggie senior entered the weekend seeded 55th but cracked the top 16 after winning three of his four matches at Southern Hills Country Club.
