Lawton under voluntary water restrictions

LAWTON, Okla_The City of Lawton has been placed under a voluntary water restriction.

In an order signed by Mayor Fred Fitch, it states that water levels at Lake Lawtonka have dropped below the amount set by the city. Due to the new water emergency, the mayor signed the order which states the city is now under a Stage 1 - Voluntary Restrictions of Outside Water Usage.

What the order means is that the city is asking residents to limit their outside water usage to the hours between midnight and noon on every other day.

The order will stand until further notice.
