OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The
Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management says federal grants have
been approved to help pay the costs of fighting seven wildfires in
Oklahoma.
The agency said Monday that
the Federal Emergency Management Agency will reimburse 75% of the costs
incurred by state, local and tribal fire departments and other first
responders.
The fires were July 30 at
Stillwater, Aug. 2 at Geary, Aug. 3 fires at Luther, near Noble and near
Mannford, and Aug. 4 fires at Drumright and Glencoe.
Eligible costs can include
expenses for equipment use, repair and replacement; tools, materials and
supplies; and mobilization and demobilization activities.
