Sooners down another lineman after Evans tears ACL

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - University of Oklahoma football coach Bob Stoops says tests have confirmed that senior offensive lineman Tyler Evans is out for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

Stops said Monday that Evans was injured Friday while running down the field during the Sooners' first practice of training camp on Friday.

Evans has started 29 games for OU at right guard and was an honorable mention All-Big 12 choice by both The Associated Press and conference coaches last season.
