Amarillo college tax increase

Posted: Updated:

Amarillo,TX - The Amarillo College Board of Regents met Thursday to propose a tax rate increase.

If approved, it will mean an increase of $10.12 annually for the owner of a $100,000 home.

Before the board can vote on the tax-rate proposal it is required to conduct two public hearings.

Those meetings are set for Friday August 17th and Monday August 20th.

Additional revenue granted from the proposed tax rate would be used to make payments on bonds approved by Amarillo Junior College district voters in 2007.
