OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -
Authorities say it's now safe for workers to return to downtown Oklahoma
City's IRS building, which was evacuated when an unattended suitcase
was discovered nearby.
Police allowed people back
into the building by midmorning Monday. Earlier, authorities evacuated
the facility, which also houses the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms
and Explosives. A nearby hotel was also partially evacuated.
Authorities didn't say what was in the suitcase but say it's safe for people to return to the area.
Police say the suitcase was left unattended near a mailbox at 55 N. Robinson Ave.
Authorities blocked off streets, evacuated workers and closed a nearby parking garage as a bomb squad examined the suitcase
