UNDATED_The University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University are welcoming their largest freshman classes in school history.
OU President David Boren greeted the new students Thursday at the annual New Sooner Convocation. Boren said the freshman class of more than 4,100 students is the largest ever in the university's history.
Oklahoma State University officials say the school has its largest ever freshman class with 4,306 students.
The university said Friday that the number surpasses the previous record of 3,927 freshmen that was set in 1980 and is 428 more freshman than enrolled in 2011 - a 10% increase.
