2 new West Nile cases confirmed in the Texas panhandle

Amarillo, Texas - Two new cases of West Nile Virus have been detected in our area.

The Texas Department of Health says humans in Deaf Smith county and Dallam county have tested positive for the virus. Cases in Donley and Gray counties have previously been reported.
  
So far in Texas this year, more than 640 cases of West Nile Virus in humans have been reported, including 23 deaths.  Experts say the last week of August is usually when the most cases are reported.
