Lawton Goodyear Plant Fire Under Investigation

Lawton, OKLa.

Lawton Goodyear Plant officials are investigating a plant fire after it erupted around six thirty Sunday evening.

The fire is reported to have started in the mixing area, in the west portion of the plant.

Some employees were evacuated when the fire started. Goodyear's own fire brigade and the Lawton Fire Department both tackled the fire.

Comanche County Emergency Management was on scene.

Two employees were treated for heat related injuries.

The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation.
