Lawton- A girl was taken to a Lawton hospital by ambulance Friday night after the sheriff says she was hit by a car in western Comanche County.
It happened a little after 6 p.m. near 197th and Cache Road. The sheriff says the girl was taking out trash at the Teen Challenge facility when she stepped into the road and the car hit her. We're still waiting to learn her condition, but the sheriff's deputies told him the injuries appeared serious. They did not release her name or age.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and at last check, troopers were at the hospital.
