Questions rise over slain doctors will

Texas - The sealing of slain physician Joseph Sonnier's will could violate the law.

The attorney handling the probate said the will was sealed as quote "A decision of the family made to maintain as much privacy as possible."

However, others argue the will should have remained available for public inspection, even if there are legal grounds for sealing it.

At issue are key portions of a rule which governs when Texas records may be sealed.

Lubbock attorney Don Richards says the motion to probate the will should be open to the public as well as the motion seeking to seal the will.

Sonnier was found dead in his Lubbock home in July.

Amarillo plastic surgeon Thomas Michael Dixon and David Neal Sheppard were indicted last week on capitol murder charges in connection with the death.

Both men remain in the Lubbock County Jail on 10 million dollars bond.
