Two Lawton schools get new classrooms

Lawton, OK_Your tax dollars have been put to good use. Two Lawton schools showed off new classrooms Monday, thanks to the 2009 sales tax.

Eisenhower Elementary's new classroom is also an extension of the school's library.
Cleveland Elementary now has four new multi-purpose classrooms.
Superintendent Barry Beauchamp says the changes were needed because most Lawton schools are outdated.
"We are trying to provide for children a better learning environment, a safer learning environment. We're getting children out of portable classrooms that have been there for years and years and years," Beauchamp said.
Cleveland and Eisenhower weren't the only schools to get new classrooms from the 2009 sales tax. Lawton High School and MacArthur High School have also benefited.
