LAWTON, Okla_Come rain or shine, people from all walks of life will gather at Elmer Thomas Park this weekend to celebrate diversity.
It's for the 33rd annual International Festival. It kicked off at 5 Friday afternoon with the opening ceremonies starting at 6.
A naturalization ceremony where people from different countries will take the oath of allegiance and be sworn in as us citizens was also held at the beginning of the festival.
Organizers say it's literally a "walk in the park" because there is no parking fee and now charge to get into the festival.
Just enter in the 3rd and Ferris entrance at Elmer Thomas park. The festival runs until 10 Friday night, from 11-10 Saturday and noon to 5 Sunday.
