OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -
Attorney General Scott Pruitt has asked the Oklahoma Court of Criminal
Appeals to set an execution date for death row inmate George Ochoa
Ochoa was convicted of
first-degree murder and sentenced to death for the killings of
38-year-old Francisco Morales and his wife, 35-year-old Maria Yanez.
Investigators say Morales suffered 12 gunshot wounds and Yanez suffered
11 wounds while in their bedroom on the morning of July 12, 1993.
On Monday, Pruitt asked the
appeals court to set an execution date for the 38-year-old Ochoa after
the U.S. Supreme Court denied the inmate's final appeal.
Last week, Pruitt asked the
appeals court for an execution date for Garry Thomas Allen, who was
convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to death for the 1986
murder of fiancée Lawanna Gail Titsworth.
