Governor Mary Fallin removes burn ban across the state

Posted: Updated:

OKLAHOMA_Governor Mary Fallin has lifted her statewide burn ban for all counties in Oklahoma. Fallin instituted the ban after a series of wildfires torched thousands of acres across Oklahoma including the large fire which began near Indiahoma and burned thousands of acres to the north.

The state has seen some relief in the recent weeks as Southwest Oklahoma received 3"-4" of rain over the past few weeks. Other parts of the state have seen similar amounts of precipitation.

There is one burn ban still in place in the state, Cimarron County officials have instituted a countywide burn ban for the county in the tip of the panhandle.
