Lawton, Okla._A few Lawton schools are reaping the benefits from a sales tax election aimed at raising millions of dollars for construction projects.
Sullivan elementary and Macarthur high school both held ribbon cutting ceremonies Thursday to celebrate the completion of additions to their campuses.
Both schools were able to move their students out of portable buildings and into the main building, with brand new facilities.
"It's going to help them greatly by having a wonderful environment to learn in, where they are not cramped up in a portable building," Sullivan Village Principal, Jeannie Alldredge, said.
The additions were paid for by a sales tax that was approved in 2009 which has funded many school projects around the city.
