Voter Registration Drive

Posted: Updated:

The League of Women Voters is making a strong push this month to get more women registered.

They've partnered with the Lawton/Ft. Sill Mayor's Commission on the Status of Women.  Tonight, they set up a booth at a Ladies Event at the Best Western hotel and we talked to Amy Holmstrom the Publicity Chair for the Commission on the Status of Women.

"We want women to know they have a voice and their voice is very important, especially in this election," she told us.

Holmstrom also said it's important for women to stand up for issues that matter to them, and their families, such as equal pay and college affordability.

The commission is appointed by the city council and the mayor with the goal of helping women and improving their quality of life.
