Okla. City, Tulsa among worst cities for allergies

Posted: Updated:

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma City and Tulsa apparently aren't the best place for allergy sufferers.

A study released Thursday by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation shows Oklahoma's two largest cities both rank among the top 20 worst cities to live in with nasal allergies.

The study ranks Oklahoma City as the seventh worst city in which to live, while Tulsa checked in at No. 19.

The study ranks the top 100 most challenging places to live with allergies based on a scientific analysis of pollen scores, the number of allergy medications used per patient, and the number of allergy specialists per patient.

The study rates the top five worst places to live with allergies as Louisville, Ky.; Wichita, Kan.; Knoxville, Tenn.; Jackson, Miss.; and McAllen, Texas.
