Grant increases police presence in Amarillo

Amarillo, TX - There will be increased police presence throughout Amarillo thanks to a grant from the Texas Department of Transportation.

The money will pay officers overtime to crack down on impaired drivers, speeders and motorists' who fail to wear their seat belt.

The city hopes the extra enforcement will increase public awareness and reduce fatalities. The grant runs though September of next year.
