Car runs into NW Lawton home

Posted: Updated:

LAWTON, Okla_A car slammed into a Lawton home just 30 minutes after the homeowners left the room. It happened Saturday night near Northwest Cheyenne Avenue and 25th Street in Lawton.

Tammy McFadden said a driver hit her aunt's car which was in the driveway and shoved it three feet into her garage. The driver's accelerator was stuck so he couldn't stop.

McFadden had to wait until Monday morning to get the car removed because she feared the walls would cave in. She said she has the driver's information and they are working things out. The repairs may cost more than $1,000, but it should be finished by the end of the day.

The driver was headed back to his home state before the accident. He has been charged with reckless driving.
