Lawton police investigate copper burglary

Lawton, Okla._Lawton police are investigating a copper burglary at salvage yard on SW 2nd Street. It was reported Monday morning by the owner of Priest Brothers Salvage.

The owner told police that someone broke into his business and stole three boxes containing more than 300 pounds of copper. It's estimated to be worth more than $1,000.

The owner talked to another salvage yard owner and found out that someone was trying to sell them the same amount of copper that was stolen.

The owner notified police. No suspect has been identified in the case.
