Goodwill fashion show fundraiser

Posted: Updated:

Lawton_Local celebrities, Goodwill employees and volunteers alike got all dolled up for a great cause Thursday night for the 2nd Annual Goodwill Fashion Show, benefiting the various community programs Goodwill supports. This year's event featured more than just a runway show.

"We have now an art exhibit that will be tied into our fashion show. And all of the artwork features things that were done by our participants at our adult day care and our youth program which are two programs that we fund," said Tia Murray, Vice-President of Program Services.

Aside from the adult day care, Goodwill funds a career development program as well as several youth programs across southwest Oklahoma and north Texas. The real task is getting the word out.

"The more people understand what Goodwill does the more they're inclined to participate and support Goodwill, because really Goodwill supports the community. Everything Goodwill does stays in the community," said Goodwill President and CEO Jimmy Crews.

The models, all wearing clothes that can be found on the racks of our local Goodwill stores, took the runway, including our own Kathryn Gisi and Justin Rudicel.
