Amarillo, TX - Here's some additional information on Ardent Health Services, one of the companies behind the changes.

According to their website, the Nashville-based company was founded in 1993 and was known as Behavioral Healthcare Corporation until being renamed in June 2001.

The company owns and operates hospital networks in Tulsa and Albuquerque, Hillcrest Healthcare System and Lovelace Health System respectively.

Between those two systems, there are ten acute care hospitals, one rehab hospital and several other health care facilities.

Ardent began services in the Tulsa metropolitan area in 2004 with the acquisition of the Hillcrest Healthcare System.

The seven facilities within the Hillcrest network are Hillcrest Medical Center, Hillcrest Hospital South, Oklahoma Heart Institute, Bailey Medical Center, Hillcrest Hospital Cushing, Hillcrest Hospital Claremore and Hillcrest Hospital Henryetta.

Between them, they treat nearly 200,000 patients every year, with more than 165,000 emergency room visits a year.

Ardent has been in business in the Albuquerque area since 2001.

Under the Lovelace Health System there is Lovelace Medical Center, Lovelace Westside Hospital, Lovelace Women's Hospital, Lovelace Rehabilitation Hospital, Heart Hospital of New Mexico at Lovelace Medical Center and Lovelace Regional Hospital in Roswell.

These six facilities had reportedly been struggling to compete with one another before partnering with Ardent to form the Lovelace Heath System.

Similar to the Tulsa system, approximately 200,000 patients are treated annually, with 80,000 emergency room visits per year.
