Hereford man charged with Aggravated Kidnapping

Hereford, Texas -A Hereford man was arrested Sunday following an incident near Dameron Park.

Police say the driver of a van began swerving and hit a stop sign at 7th and McKinley. Two men were seen leaving the scene when police were called.

The victim said 27 year old Jose A. Almaraz jumped in his vehicle and threatened to shoot him with a gun. He said that he began swerving to avoid getting shot.

27 year old Jose A. Almaraz was booked into the Deaf Smith County Jail and is being charged with Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Kidnapping, and having a prohibited weapon.
