LAWTON, Okla_Police have
caught a thief who ripped off a Goodwill donation bin last month, thanks to a
sharp-eyed 7News viewer.
The theft
happened behind the Goodwill store on NW 52nd and Cache Road.
Police say Richard
Carnahan broke the locks on the bins and then piled the stuff into his truck.
The theft was caught on surveillance cameras, and when we showed the footage on
our newscasts, a viewer recognized Carnahan and called police.
Goodwill
officials say this was actually the second time their cameras had caught Carnahan
raiding their bins. The first theft happened just a few weeks earlier.
If convicted of the charge of second-degree burglary, Carnahan faces up
to seven years in prison.
