Police make arrest in Motif Manor shooting

Posted: Updated:

LAWTON, Okla_Police say they have arrested the man who pulled the trigger outside of the Motif Manor Apartments which wounded a girl earlier this week.

He has been identified as 26 year old Prince Amepersoa. Authorities say he confessed to the crime during an interview with investigators.

The shooting sent Lawton resident Lekisha Monroe to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the back of her neck.

Investigators say several leads pointed to Ameperosa, but he has still not given officials the reason why he shot at Monroe's car Sunday night. They also have a small-caliber weapon that belongs to Ameperosa and bullets taken from Monroe match.

Ameperosa is currently behind bars, facing charges of assault with a dangerous weapon.
