PASO Turnabout raises funds to promote HIV awareness

Posted: Updated:

It was music, food and drinks Saturday night for folks supporting one local organization.

PASO, or the Panhandle Aids Support Organization hosted its Turnabout 2012, Grand Ole PASO fundraising event Saturday evening. Things kicked off at eight Saturday night at the Sunset Center. Organizers say the money raised will go toward providing education and support for people of the Panhandle infected with HIV. Despite the good time this evening, the most important thing people can do is get tested.

"You know, if someone really wants to do something to stop the spread of the virus, if you haven't been tested for HIV, you should be," said Michael Timcisko, PASO Exec. Director. "That's how everyone can help."

PASO is a non-profit organization and has been operating since it opened its door in 1987. It provides that education and support to people in the 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle.
