Prelim report released in fatal Anadarko plane crash

Posted: Updated:

ANADARKO, Okla. (AP) - A preliminary report on a plane crash in Anadarko that killed a Texas man says the pilot aborted his landing and the aircraft was apparently inverted when in crashed.

The Piper PA-28 single-engine aircraft burned on impact after crashing Nov. 6, killing 62-year-old Robert Glasscock of Lubbock, Texas.

The report from the National Transportation Safety Board says witnesses saw the plane land at Anadarko Municipal Airport - then bounce twice before the pilot aborted the landing and begin to circle the airport. The report says the plane banked left and apparently became inverted before diving into the ground.

The report released this week is preliminary. The NTSB says it may be months before a probable cause of the crash is determined.
