Posted: Updated:

One of the four veterans killed in that tragic train accident in Midland on Thursday was Hereford native Army Sgt. Joshua Michael. A recent statement from the family announced that a funeral for Sgt. Michael will be held here in Amarillo.

The exact date and time for the funeral and burial service has not yet been specified, but are expected to be announced within 24 hours. NewsChannel 10 will of course keep you informed of that information as soon as it becomes available.

The family's spokesperson, Cory Rogers also released a statement saying the family has been "Blessed by all the comments, tweets, facebook posts and phone calls of hope and encouragement. They also want to express their sincere gratitude for all those who have made donations."

Rogers also says the family plans to choose a charity in the coming days to share some of those donations with.

America Supports You Texas is also hosting a Prayer Vigil in Amarillo for Joshua Michael as well as the three other veterans who lost their lives in this tragic accident. For anyone wanting to attend, it will be held Sunday, November 18, at two o'clock in the afternoon at the Panhandle War Memorial in Amarillo at 4101 S. Georgia Street.
