Disc golf course unusual spot for Norman robbery

Posted: Updated:

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Disc golf courses are known as generally friendly places but a Norman man learned that that's not always the case.

Police are searching for a man who robbed 21-year-old Ryan Milam on Saturday and menaced him with a pistol and a crowbar.

The Norman Transcript reports (http://is.gd/uZEyn2 ) that Milam had withdrawn $150 in cash to pay a bill. The robber took the money and 1 of his mobile phones.

Police recovered the phone after Milam tracked it electronically and investigators hope to get fingerprints from it.

Authorities say a number of disc golfers have had equipment stolen recently and it turned up in pawn shops.

Investigators are searching for a suspect.
