Hundreds of motorcyclists ride in annual Toy Run in Amarillo

Posted: Updated:

It was nice weather for a motorcycle parade Sunday afternoon and that's exactly what took place starting a Tripp's Harley-Davidson in Amarillo.

It was for the 33rd Annual Toy Run benefiting the Salvation Army. Motorcyclists started out at Tripp's, and finished up the toy run at the Courts of Amarillo where they enjoyed some live music. Setting aside the fun of the ride, the event usually brings in hundreds of toys and monetary donations to help provide underprivileged children a merrier Christmas.

"That's what makes it worth it for us, we get to see all the toys and all the kids that get a Christmas, that normally wouldn't get one," said Jason Tripp, owner of Tripp's Harley-Davidson. "That's kind of the reason we do it."

The cost to get in on Sunday's toy run was either a new toy valued at ten dollars per rider, or a ten dollar donation per person. Again, those toys and donations will all go toward benefiting the Salvation Army.
