Seattle Police Department releases guide to new marijuana laws

Posted: Updated:

Seattle, WA - The Seattle Police Department has released a guide to Washington state's new marijuana laws.

The guide details how the department will change several procedures.

One of the biggest is that police will no longer be able to use the smell of marijuana as probable cause to search a vehicle.

However, they can still request a warrant if they think someone is not obeying the restrictions of the new laws.

The guide is the first of its kind in the nation.
