Police: Employee made threats at Edmond school

Posted: Updated:

EDMOND, Okla. (AP) - Officials say an employee at a middle school in Edmond won't be at school Tuesday after he allegedly called a suicide hotline and threatened to harm himself and others.

The Edmond School District sent out alerts Monday to parents after the alleged threats were called in to a hotline.

Authorities say the man works at Sequoyah Middle School.

Police say that the man was questioned in a classroom and taken to a facility for a mental health evaluation. Police would not disclose the nature of the threats.

The school says the man "is getting the care and follow-up deemed necessary" and that was no one was hurt.
