Bikers donate thousands to charities

Posted: Updated:

Lawton, Okla._Dozens of bikers gathered at the VFW Wednesday night to present some very big checks to some very deserving and thankful charities.

They donated all the money left from their toy ride committee budget and split it down the middle to give to the Lawton Fire Department and the Lawton Food Bank. Each organization received a check for over two thousand dollars.

Josh Hall received the one of the checks on behalf of the Fire Department. He said the money will help fund their toys for tots charity.

"This is huge for us. We can go out, we can provide so much more for the kids. More toys, more kids, just trying to better well take care of our community, you know. There's been a lot of hardship this year with people not working and jobs lost, so those guys have done a ton for the community this year," Hall said.

The representative from the food bank said the money they received will be instrumental in providing food for those in need this holiday season.
