Altus Woman Trapped in Shed for 12 Hours

Posted: Updated:

ALTUS, Okla._

Sunday morning Altus Police said a woman was rescued from an outdoor shed after being trapped inside for twelve hours.

Police were called to the 700 block of West Oriole around 11:00 a.m. Sunday after a 9-1-1 caller told police they could hear a woman screaming for help and that they didn't know where it was coming from.

Once police arrived they were able to follow the woman's cry for help to the back yard of a home. Inside a shed they found a woman who told officers she became trapped Saturday night after the shed door was blown shut.

Luckily, police said the woman managed to make it through the chilly night by using a space heater inside the shed and several blankets that were also inside.
