Wind Energy Growing in Texas

Posted: Updated:

A new report shows wind energy use in Texas saves enough water meet the needs of 138 thousand residents.

That's equivalent to more water than the city of Abilene uses in a year.

The report is being hailed as a major victory for proponents of wind energy as 75 percent of Texas still remains in drought conditions.

Wind energy now makes up almost seven percent of power in the state.

That makes Texas the number one wind producer in the nation.
