Clovis, New Mexico - A Clovis man is sentenced to five years in prison for trying to have sex with a 12 year old girl.

The 9th District Attorney's office says 33 year old Adam Sanchez was sentenced in court Thursday morning.

In January of 2012, Sanchez sent explicit photos to a young girl, then her mother reported it to police. Law enforcement posing as the girl then sent messages setting up a meeting with him for the purposes of having sex, where he was arrested.

Investigators say Sanchez had condoms and several pairs of panties that he wanted the young girl to wear.
