FORT SILL, Okla_ Fort Sill soldiers got down and dirty at Friday's mud run.
The 168th Brigade made their way through mud pits sliding, running, and even crawling. The soldiers went through a 3 1/2 mile course. They ran up and down hills and traveled through creeks, all in the wet and slimy mud.
"It was an opportunity to bring companies out and compete with each other in a friendly competition of mud and fun," LTC David Wadell said.
It took the soldiers about 45 minutes to complete the course. They were served some barbecue when they were finished. The 5K Mud Run is the first event of its kind. A Fort Sill official says he hopes he can make the mud run an annual event.
