WEATHERFORD, Okla. (AP) -
Josh Torres ran for 120 yards and a pair of second-half touchdowns, and
Tipton's defense clamped down after halftime in a 30-12 victory Saturday
in the Class C championship game.
The Lawton Constitution (http://bit.ly/Uid13p
) reports that the Tigers allowed only 28 yards in the second half
while holding Forgan (12-1) scoreless. Tipton (13-0) posted 11 shutouts
this season on its way to its third state championship, and the first in
15 years.
The Tigers went ahead to
stay with 5:38 left in the third quarter, when Torres scored from 1 yard
out and Bryant Flores ran in the 2-point conversion. Flores tacked on
an 80-yard TD run and Torres a 39-yard touchdown run.
Dalton Lemieux and Trevin Lopez ran for touchdowns for Forgan.
