UPDATE: Driver charged in fatal hit and run

Posted: Updated:

Lawton, Okla._An update on that deadly hit and run accident on Cache Road Friday night.

The driver, Thomas Campbell, has been charged with a felony for leaving the scene of a fatality accident.

Police arrested the 25-year-old at the scene but he was released Monday on bail.

They say the victim, Glenna Goodplume, was crossing Cache Road near Pershing around 10:30 Friday night when she was struck by Campbell's Tahoe.

Authorities say Campbell left the scene, but later returned.

A court affidavit says Campbell told detectives he knew he hit someone. He said after he left the area, he pulled into a neighborhood and called his wife, who told him to do the right thing, and that's when he called 911.

Goodeplume was pronounced dead at the scene.
