Child hit by car in NE Amarillo

Amarillo, Texas - A nine year old child was struck by a car Tuesday morning on Amarillo's east side.

It happened just before 8:00 in the 2000 block of N. Marrs. The driver was pulling into a parking lot when the child was hit and say he was not using the designated crosswalk at the time.
  
The child was taken inside nearby Wittier Elementary school and then was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The driver was cited for not having a license and no insurance.
