LAWTON Okla_ The future of
the Lawton Municipal Golf Course is still in question.
A meeting set
to take place today between the airport authority and Lawton's mayor was postponed due to
scheduling conflicts. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the city's
interest in taking over the golf course. As we've reported, the current lease
holders are stepping away at the end of the year.
The airport
authority says if the course remains, a pond on it must be drained. They said that's
under orders from the FAA, because of the hazards the wildlife poses for
airplanes.
No word yet on
when that meeting will be rescheduled.
