Arraignment for Tulsa megachurch employee delayed

TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Arraignment for a former employee of a Tulsa mega-church on a sex crime charge has been postponed until Jan. 22

A Tulsa County judge set the new arraignment date Monday for former Victory Christian Center janitor Israel Castillo to give attorneys on both sides more time to file motions.

Castillo is charged with making a lewd or indecent proposal to a child. He has pleaded not guilty.

The 23-year-old Castillo allegedly sent explicit Facebook messages to a 14-year-old girl he had known for at least two years.

In another case - former church employee Chris Denman pleaded guilty Oct. 29 to six felony charges, including rape, related to three underage girls. He was charged in the August rape of a 13-year-old in a church stairwell before a church service.
