Man wounded in shooting

Lawton, Okla._A Lawton man was shot and wounded by a man he thought was going to sell him something.

The victim told police he'd gone to the Sanders Heights Apartments on the city's south side to buy a Kindle from a man who lived there.

The victim said he was still in his car when the man took his money, and then shot him in the hip. He said he drove off to his girlfriend's apartment, and then to the hospital.

Police say the bullet fractured the man's hip bone. No information has been released on the shooter.

Several crews responded to a series of fires along Highway 7 near the Comanche/Stephens County line.  Crews still have not determined how they started, but they suspect the fires were ignited by a vehicle that could have been inadvertently dragging a chain, or a trailer that was sending out sparks. Firefighters were able to get it under control and keep it from spreading too far.
