Murder suspect declared mentally fit to stand trial

Lawton_A trial date has been set for the man accused of killing a Cache couple during a brutal home invasion in October 2009, after he was found mentally competent.

Mica Martinez is scheduled to stand trial next January on two charges of first-degree murder in the deaths of Carl and Martha Miller.

Martinez' trial has been delayed repeatedly due to competency hearings, the firing of Martinez' court-appointed attorneys and a request to appoint a new judge to the case.

He faces the death penalty.
