BORGER, TX- A Borger fourth grader is enjoying an early Christmas present after his grandfather surprised him in front of his homeroom class at Crockett Elementary School Thursday.
Shortened classes and holiday parties made students and staff anxious for the holiday break from school.
With the arrival of a special visitor, Braydon Kemp got what he wanted most for Christmas early.
His grandfather, John Webb, busted into Braydon's classroom while they were watching a movie.
"Santa Claus happened to send me a little note," Webb announced to the class. "Santa Claus told me that someone in this classroom was hoping their Papa would be home early for Christmas."
The class knew who that was, and all shouted "Braydon!"
"The Connecticut incident really hit close to home," Webb said. "I just needed to get home. I talked my way into getting out of there early so I could surprise him."
Webb came home to find his home decorated with yellow ribbon from local florists and he will meet his brand new granddaughter later this week, making this holiday one to cherish forever.
"This was a very special Christmas," Webb said.
