Lawton Man Arrested for D-U-I, Nearly Hits Police Car

Lawton, OKLa._ A Lawton man ended his night of drinking in jail Saturday night, after a close call with a police car.

Police said as Glen Parker drove his truck out from Southwest "E" Avenue onto Sheridan Road, he almost hit an officers car. The officer stopped Parker just a few blocks away, near Sheridan and Southwest "C" avenue. Police said Parker's eyes were bloodshot, he could barely stand straight and the officer could smell alcohol coming from his breath. Parker admitted that he'd had a few beers but then refused a field sobriety test . He was arrested on several charges, including driving under the influence.

Court records show Parker had been convicted of driving under the influence in 2009.
