"TLC" Reaches out to Local Apartments

Posted: Updated:

Lawton, Okla_ Another church group was reaching out to the community too.  They're called 'Touching Lives Compassionately Through God's Grace'.  They sang outside the Sanders Heights Apartments and also gave teddy bears and candy canes to the kids who live there.

The group chose this complex, as well as Motif Manor, because they've been the scene of some recent violent crimes.

"We know that a lot of people are fearful to be here, to come here, and some of the people that are here, are here because they don't have a choice right now.  And, so we wanted to just show that there are people here who love them, who care about them, and are here to support them," said TLC member Lisa Willis.

Willis said if others in the community would like to partner with them in their outreach program, you can find them on Facebook.
