Fire crews battle overnight house fire

Posted: Updated:

Several volunteer fire departments were battling a house fire overnight in the frigid temperatures.

It happened just east of 210th St., which is on the Comanche and Stephens County line.  The fire broke out just after midnight. When firefighters arrived there were visible flames shooting from the double-wide mobile home.  Comanche County's Emergency Management Director Clint Wagstaff says it is a total loss.  He says a family was home at the time but they made it out safely.

Crews from six area volunteer fire departments responded.  The State Fire Marshal was on the scene to investigate a cause. The Red Cross was also called in to get coffee and water to firefighters.
