Lawton, Okla._Local lawmakers met with area farmers Friday evening at the Comanche County Farm Bureau's annual Christmas party in Lawton. It was a chance for them to hear the concerns facing those in the agricultural industry.
Representative Joe Dorman of Rush Springs says lawmakers understand the tough times local producers and ranchers are going through.
"I know agriculture is going to be a great concern this year, especially with the drought conditions we've seen, and some of the especially with the fiscal cliff, if it does go the way we're seeing that no compromise is going to be reached, so there's gonna be a lot to address to help out our family farms, and consumers, with the increased cost of products," Dorman said.
Dorman said he's still deciding which bills he will actually submit for consideration to the legislature, when the session begins in February.
Senator Don Barrington of Lawton along with Representatives Don Armes of Faxon, and Ann Coody of Lawton, also attended Friday's event.
